LegalPrivacy Policy

Last updated 2 September 2026. This is an interim policy and will be updated once our full policy has been finalised.

Who we are

THIRSTI is a brand of Normandien Farms (Pty) Ltd ("THIRSTI", "we", "us"), ERF 15469, P39 Road, Normandien, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. We are the "responsible party" for the personal information described in this policy under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). You can reach us at hello@thirsti.co.za or on 087 803 0417.

What this policy covers

This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit www.thirsti.co.za, how we use it, who we share it with and the rights you have. It does not cover third-party websites we link to, such as our stockists or social media platforms, which have their own privacy policies.

Information we collect

  • Information you give us. If you contact us by email or telephone we receive the details you provide, typically your name, contact details and the content of your message.
  • Information collected automatically. When you browse the site our servers and analytics tools record technical data such as your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you view, how you arrived at the site and how you move through it. Some of this is collected using cookies and similar technologies (see below).

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. The site does not sell products online and we do not collect payment details.

How we use your information

  • To respond to enquiries, trade and stockist requests and general correspondence.
  • To operate, secure and improve the website and understand which content is useful.
  • To measure the effectiveness of our marketing, including advertising on social media platforms.
  • To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.

We rely on your consent (for analytics and advertising cookies), our legitimate interests in running and promoting our business, and the need to respond to requests you make to us.

Cookies and analytics

We use the following third-party tools, each of which may set cookies or use similar identifiers on your device:

  • Google Analytics (Google LLC), to measure site traffic and usage. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
  • Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.), to measure and improve advertising on Facebook and Instagram. You can manage your preferences in your Facebook ad settings.
  • TikTok Pixel (TikTok Pte. Ltd.), to measure and improve advertising on TikTok. See TikTok's privacy policy for your options.

These providers may process data outside South Africa. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings; the site will continue to work, although some features may be limited.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the website and our business (such as our web hosting, email and analytics providers), with our professional advisers, and where required by law. Service providers act on our instructions and are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.

How long we keep it

We keep correspondence for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, and thereafter only as required by law or for legitimate business record-keeping. Analytics data is retained according to the retention settings of the tools listed above.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls on our systems.

Your rights

Under POPIA you have the right to:

  • ask whether we hold personal information about you and request a copy of it;
  • ask us to correct or delete personal information that is inaccurate, out of date or no longer necessary;
  • object to processing, including for direct marketing;
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
  • lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforegulator.org.za, POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@thirsti.co.za. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
